The Story Behind The Cards

Trapped in Amsterdam because of an Icelandic volcano in 2010, Michael Bungay Stanier and Mark Bowden retreated to the pub and started trading stories about terrible meetings and presentations they’d been subjected too – “Oh yeah? You call that bad? Let me tell you about this one time…” – and more importantly, what they believed made really great meetings and presentations work.

It was the spark for Presentation Genius. With the combined experience of having run meetings, workshops and presentations for more than 100,000 people in organizations around the world, Mark and Michael decided to capture what really works – and to share the secrets to dynamic meetings, workshops and presentations.

They created over 300 ways to be a Presentation Genius – and then whittled that number down to the 108 tactics they thought were most powerful, most useful and most practical.
